Lucas and Alexandra Krost, with whom I frequently collaborate with at their production studio The Branching, asked me to come aboard on a show for VPM (an affiliate of PBS and NPR) called Passion Projects. Its initial episode was produced around the arrival of Shared Studios’ Portals in Richmond, VA. To say that this process was daunting would be an understatement, but everyone involved worked tirelessly to create something great. The way the episode came to life is something I’m more proud of than anything else I’ve done in my career. And because the story itself is so worthy of recognition, this piece will always hold a special place in my heart.
Working closely with director Andrew Carnwath, I edited the pilot for The Magic Shed, a half-hour comedy produced locally in Richmond, VA. The beginning of my work on the show involved a three week period in which I edited entirely alone. After the initial edit was done, Andrew and I worked together in our down time from other jobs to tweak things until we had a finished product we both loved. Many, many other people were involved with the creation of this show, as you can see on the credits page on its website. The episode has received many awards & accolades from festivals across the country, and the launch of the pilot is ongoing. Look out for more in the near future!

I worked with my wonderful friends at Hue & Cry to finalize the edit on their award-winning short film. Although the animation was done entirely by their incredibly talented staff, I was entrusted with the responsibility of paring down their original nine-minute edit to a final piece that felt compact and digestible, without losing any of the story. As a part of my role, I had a hand in the overall sound design of the film, as well as the music edits. I also edited the official trailer, which was almost as fun to make as the film itself.

I'm a freelance video editor based in Richmond, VA. I'm available for work at your location or from my home studio. I have experience in studio work, remote work, and on-location editing. I live in Church Hill with my wife and dog.
My early work in advertising cultivated a versatility that led me to steadily bolster my skill set and brand portfolio throughout my career. I eagerly take on projects outside of the advertising world as well. These projects including music videos, a 30 minute comedy pilot, and a 30 minute documentary series for VPM, an award winning animated short film in collaboration with Hue & Cry, and many other smaller projects. I have worked within all sorts of mediums and budgets. I love collaborating with new clients, whether for a one-off project or a relationship that lasts many years.
My work has been featured in AdWeek, RVA Mag, and other publications. I have been told I have a knack for rhythm, music, humor, and "making something out of nothing."
It should be noted that not all of my work is available publicly due to previous NDAs, so it's always best to get in contact with me to get the full picture!
